Padam: Nice T bud!
Shans: Yeah, got it from brigade, some 250 bucks.
Padam: Cool!
Shans: So howz computer networks?!
Padam: Same fuckin shit dude. They are all the same.
Shans: I know...forget them! pass the joint.
Shans takes a puff and feels bliss. As if some mysterious power has taken care of all the madness in the world.
Shans: They said they are going to fit in some extra classes, poor chaps,still dont know us.
Padam: Yeah, but that will do us good right?!
Shans: Good? how?
Padam: No man, we gotta learn something, its time we make some choices.
Shans: Regarding what?
Padam: Regarding our future.
Shans: oh! come on Padam. Dont start this discussion all over again. I hate this.
Padam: But we gotta end this thing somewhere.
Shans: And thats what i dont want to do.
Padam: Then fuckin stay in college for two more years. Everybody else will move out but not us.
Shans: Let them! At least I am living now.
Padam: Living! This fuckin shit that we are doin right now! U call it living?!
By now Padam's head is filled with feelings of frustation, anger, dejection...
Padam: I dont know man?
Shans: What?!
Padam: I mean look at us, we are finished. Never did any good in college. Have poor grades, Could never get even a job.
Shans: so...
Padam: so we will pass out of college and head back to home, will be pain in our parents asses, who by now are sure that we are good for nothing. Whereas all our other friends will have a job, a career, will be something 10 years down the line.
Shans: so..
Padam: So we are fuckin wastin our lives!
Shans: says who...
Padam: oh! come on Shans! you know we wont be able to match to our peers. Wont be able to give what our parents wanted from us.
Shans: They want you to be happy...
Padam: No! They wanted me to grow up, be an engineer or a doctor. So that i can earn pots of money and give them the financial freedom they have longed for. And here i am, having a year back and sitting with you over a joint.
Shans: But thats not your fault?
Padam: Then whose?
Shans: The system's.
Padam: But the system works for everyone else.
Shans: It dosent. They compromise.
Padam: Why cant we?? Why cant we be like them?? Why is it so difficult for us to compromise so that our parents can be happy??
Padam felt this sharp pain in his heart and tears came rolling down.
Padam: You know shans, I never wanted to hurt my parents. But I am just not able to do this.
Shans: And there's nothing wrong in that. Its not meant for you.
Padam: Nothings meant for me shans, I am such a waste.
Shans: See, thats why i never get into this discussion with you. You are such a girl!
Padam: Dont know buddy. Sometimes it gets too much. I am sorry.
Shans: Come on! you had enough. Let me have the last puff!
Shans takes the puff and looks at the ceiling wall, then looks at Padam. Padam passes a smile, and they both get lost in the space filled with smoke not willing to return back into the world which gives them nothing but dejection. Close
nah! i jus passed out. now me is a professional..darn! clg was so fun!

If you dig in my archives you'll see that both TZP and dreams have had a long almost dope like affect on me...:)
Loved the lucid narration , bouyant chat! extremely natural ...wonder how even seemingly laid back guys actually ruminate about larger issues in lif eonce they get high ! goes to show men aren't comfortable showing their vulnerable side while being in control of their senses
I just have one regret...I completely dig stories wid a happy ending or atleast wid a ray of hope. can u write a sequel wid one? :)

It depends. Life lived so far gives us that impression...and also at times we like romancing with our pains and that brings more anguish to us.
I think at times we should let go...or at least try to be jus fyn!!

You've got a point. But a point that seldom comes true. Don't mean to tear you down in any way, but, can't help but say. No matter what, the happiness never lasts. There's always that something that comes along the way and strips you of your joy.
I guess that's just the way I think.
